ISLAMABAD: Turkiye on Thursday firmly rejected Indian media reports linking Ankara to the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, calling the allegations baseless, misleading, and without evidence.
The explosion, which occurred on Monday, initially killed eight people and injured more than 20. The death toll later climbed to 12, prompting Indian authorities to declare it a terror attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that those responsible would be brought to justice.
Responding to the accusations, Turkiye’s Directorate of Communications strongly denied any involvement, stressing that Ankara had no connection to radicalisation or support for groups operating against India.
“Turkiye rejects acts of terror anywhere in the world,” the statement said, adding that claims about Ankara influencing sleeper cells or aiding militants were false, misleading, and not backed by facts.
The Turkish government urged the public and media to avoid spreading disinformation, especially at a time when families affected by the blast are seeking clarity and accountability.
