Mumbai – Legendary Indian actor and comedian Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74 in Mumbai on Friday. According to family sources, the actor had been battling kidney-related complications and breathed his last at Hinduja Hospital.
Satish Shah, born in 1951, was widely regarded as one of India’s finest comic performers. With a career spanning over four decades, he appeared in more than 250 films and several iconic television shows.
He rose to fame in the 1980s with the cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, where his unforgettable role as Municipal Commissioner D’Mello earned him national recognition. On television, his portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai became one of the most beloved characters in Indian sitcom history.
Apart from his comedy, Shah also showcased his versatility in popular films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and Main Hoon Na, where his humor brought warmth and wit to every scene.
