Women's World Cup: Sidra Amin looks for strong performance vs Australia

Pakistan’s senior batter Sidra Amin expressed confidence ahead of the Women’s World Cup clash against Australia, declaring the match as a “significant challenge” for the Green Shirts.

According to details surfaced on Tuesday, speaking at a press conference, Sidra said the team, along with each individual player, remained focused on performance.

“We have prepared a plan to take early wickets against Australia,” she said. “The wicket is difficult for batting, but once a batter spends some time at the crease, it becomes easier.”

Sidra said she would aim to deliver a strong performance for her team once again. “As a senior batter, I am the backbone of the team,” she said. “The captain and coach trust me and assign responsibility.”

She compared the pitch conditions to those in Australia. “I have never played on such a wicket in Asia,” she said.

Reflecting on her early dismissal against Bangladesh, Sidra said it left her disappointed and disheartened. “You work hard and sometimes the effort pays off,” she added.

After playing two matches, Sidra said she had become familiar with the conditions. She acknowledged Australia as a strong side and said confidence would be key.

She acknowledged the Australian bowling dominance, saying, “All Australian bowlers are good.”
