A newly inaugurated museum at the Hira Cultural Center in Makkah, located near the sacred Cave Hira, is drawing global attention with its display of the world’s largest copy of the Holy Quran. The museum, part of Saudi Arabia’s growing efforts to preserve and share Islamic heritage, also showcases rare historical manuscripts and unique religious artifacts, including a piece of the Kaaba’s cover (Kiswah).
Visitors can explore interactive exhibits that illustrate how the Quran has been preserved through centuries, along with a realistic replica of the Cave Hira, where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) received the first revelation.
The initiative is designed to educate pilgrims and visitors about the profound history of Islam and the sacred significance of Makkah. Officials say the center embodies Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to cultural preservation and the promotion of Islamic knowledge on a global scale.
