Karachi — A tragic incident occurred near Metroville late Monday night, where a 22-year-old youth, identified as Ubaidullah, son of Salar, was killed by a stray bullet while sleeping beside his vegetable cart.
According to SHO Mominabad, the deceased hailed from Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and had been living alone in Karachi. He earned his livelihood by selling vegetables on a pushcart. The officer stated that Ubaidullah was asleep next to his cart when an unidentified bullet struck him near his ear, causing his instant death.
Police believe the bullet may have been fired from an unknown direction. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene to determine the source of the gunfire.
The tragic death has sparked grief among the local residents and fellow vendors, who described Ubaidullah as a hardworking and peaceful man. Authorities are investigating whether the incident was a result of aerial firing, a stray bullet from a nearby conflict, or a targeted attack.
Police have shifted the body to the hospital for legal formalities, while further investigations are underway.
