Pakistan secured a dramatic victory over France in the semi-final of the FIH Men’s Nations Cup 2025, winning 3-2 in a tense penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw in regulation time.

Despite falling behind 2-0 early in the game, the Green Shirts staged a brilliant comeback. Goals from Afraz Hakeem, Sufyan Khan (off a penalty corner), and Muhammad Hammadudin gave Pakistan a 3-2 lead before France equalized late through Victor Charlet.

With no winner in regular time, the match went into a penalty shootout. Pakistan’s goalkeeper, Muneeb ur Rehman, rose to the occasion with three outstanding saves, securing a place for his team in the final.

Pakistan will now face the winner of the other semi-final clash between New Zealand and South Korea in the tournament’s final, scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025.

This win marks a significant achievement for Pakistan as they continue their revival on the international hockey stage.
