Ghotki: Security forces have recovered 11 out of 19 passengers abducted from a bus on the Guddu–Kashmore Road in Sindh’s Ghotki district.
According to DSP Ubauro, the recovered passengers were freed following an encounter with the abductors in the Somiani area. He said efforts are underway to secure the release of the remaining captives, while a complete blockade has been imposed across the area to prevent the suspects from escaping.
Police and Rangers are continuing the pursuit of the abductors, with drone surveillance being used as part of the operation.
Police sources said the incident occurred late Monday night when armed men intercepted a passenger bus near the Murid Branch area on the Guddu–Kashmore Road and abducted 19 passengers.
Eyewitnesses stated that the bus was carrying around 25 passengers, including women. The abductors reportedly released the women and took 19 male passengers with them.
Police further said the attackers opened fire during the incident, shattering the windows of the bus. The vehicle was travelling from Sadiqabad to Quetta. Following the abduction, police and Rangers were immediately dispatched to track down the suspects.
