16 More Health Centers Damaged by Floods Across the Country

The damage to the national healthcare system from floods continues. Sources said that the government has received a report on the damage to the health infrastructure, which states that 16 more health centers have been damaged across the country.

‎According to sources in the Ministry of Health, the number of flood affected health centers nationwide has reached 120. Health infrastructure has been affected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab, and Gilgit Baltistan. In Punjab, 28 centers have been damaged, 25 in Sindh, and 7 in Gilgit Baltistan.

‎Sources said that 8 health centers across the country have been completely destroyed, while 112 have been partially damaged. In KP, Sindh, Punjab, and GB, 8 centers have been completely destroyed and are non-functional.

‎The Ministry of Health stated that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 health centers have been completely destroyed by floods, 2 in Sindh, 2 in GB, and 1 in Punjab. In the affected areas of Punjab, access to 24 centers is no longer possible due to damaged roads caused by floodwaters.

‎In KP, houses of 32 Lady Health Workers have been completely destroyed, while 28 have been partially damaged. In total, 60 centers in KP have been damaged. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 2 centers have been completely destroyed, 5 partially damaged, and the 2 destroyed centers are non functional.
