17th Karachi Literature Festival Set for February 2026

The Karachi Literature Festival is officially returning next year, and the dates are now locked in. Organisers have announced that the 17th edition of Pakistan’s biggest literary gathering will take place from February 6 to 8, 2026, once again at the Beach Luxury Hotel, a venue that’s become almost synonymous with the event over the years.

The announcement has already sparked excitement among writers, readers, and everyone who treats the festival like an annual reunion with books, ideas, and the city’s creative pulse. And honestly, if you’ve ever walked through those crowded hotel lawns during KLF season, you know exactly why people look forward to it.

This upcoming edition is expected to follow the festival’s familiar but well-loved rhythm — panel discussions, book launches, conversations with authors, poetry sessions, and a bustling book bazaar that usually turns even casual visitors into impulsive book buyers.

Organisers haven’t rolled out the full lineup yet, but early hints suggest a blend of Pakistani and international voices, much like previous years, where you’d often find a Nobel laureate speaking in one hall and a young debut author signing copies just outside.

One thing regulars will recognize is KLF’s habit of stretching beyond just books. Recent editions introduced film screenings, theatrical performances, and a musical night — and it looks like 2026 will continue that pattern. The festival team has also indicated that the Youth Pavilion will be back, giving children their own dedicated space with storytelling sessions, puppet shows, and other activities that make the event family-friendly rather than strictly academic.

For Karachi — a city that doesn’t always get to slow down — KLF has become a rare moment where people pause, sit under a winter sun, and talk about stories, culture, and everything in between. And with the 2026 dates now set, the countdown has quietly begun.
