Muzaffarabad: Dengue Cases in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Rise Alarmingly
Muzaffarabad (Dunya News) — Dengue virus cases are increasing at an alarming rate in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In the past 24 hours alone, 80 new patients have tested positive for the virus, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 381.
According to the Dengue Control Room, the highest number of cases has been reported from the capital, Muzaffarabad, where 185 patients have been confirmed so far. This is followed by Bagh with 75 cases and Mirpur with 83 cases. Additionally, 4 cases have been reported from Jhelum Valley, 9 from Neelum Valley, 1 from Sudhnoti, 5 from Haveli, and 16 from Poonch. In Bhimber district, 3 cases have been confirmed so far.
The Control Room further stated that currently, 16 patients are under treatment in different hospitals across AJK, while 113 patients have recovered and returned home.
The Health Department has urged the public to take precautionary measures and ensure cleanliness in and around their homes to help prevent the spread of the virus.
