The Dera Police, along with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), arrested six men linked to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (Tipu Gul Group) during an intelligence-based operation near Abdul Khel.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada, speaking at a press briefing alongside senior officers, said the targeted raid took place in the mountainous areas of Abdul Khail, Shahbazi, and Shah Hasan Khail.
Two of the arrested men were identified as facilitators and relatives of key militants. Police seized two Kalashnikovs, two hand grenades, 650 grams of explosives, a 30-bore pistol, and 57 bullets from their possession.
According to the DPO, the group had been setting up illegal checkpoints and carrying out robberies in different areas, including routes linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He vowed to arrest the remaining members soon and warned that no one would be allowed to threaten public safety.
Interrogations are ongoing, and police expect important information from the suspects.
