It has been revealed that thousands of employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department are receiving travel allowance despite residing in government accommodations or hostels.

‎According to sources, this issue had already been identified earlier, however, despite official directives, thousands of employees are still being paid the travel allowance.

‎Health Department officials stated that only employees residing in a few major hospitals of the province are having their travel allowance deducted, while most employees are still availing this benefit.

‎The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has taken notice of the matter and directed the Health Department to prepare a list of all employees residing in government houses or hostels and to immediately stop their travel allowance.

‎The committee has also decided that the travel allowance received by such employees from 2017 till now will be recovered.
