Former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has praised the national side after they lifted the UAE Tri-Nation T20I Series title with a convincing win over Afghanistan in Sharjah on Sunday night.

Pakistan, led by stand-in captain Agha Salman, bowled out Afghanistan for just 66 runs, sealing a 75-run victory in the tournament final. Mohammad Nawaz was the star of the show, producing a brilliant five-wicket haul that broke the Afghan middle order and ensured Pakistan’s dominance.

Taking to social media shortly after the win, Sarfaraz lauded the squad’s performance:

> “Congratulations, Team Pakistan, on winning the tri-nation series, well led by Agha, and excellent bowling by all the bowlers. Nawaz, you beauty! Rana, well played.”

His post quickly gained traction among fans, with many echoing his sentiments and celebrating the team’s depth ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup.

Wider Praise Across the Cricket Fraternity

Sarfaraz wasn’t the only one to applaud the performance. Former greats and current stars chimed in with their reactions:

Wasim Akram highlighted the impact of Pakistan’s spin attack, calling it a “masterclass in control and pressure.”

Mohammad Amir congratulated the team while cheekily remarking that “a few YouTubers might not be too happy tonight.”

Ahmad Shahzad backed the squad to carry this momentum into the Asia Cup, stressing the importance of confidence at this stage.

Senior players Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam also shared their excitement, describing the win as a big morale booster.

The Bigger Picture

The tri-series, held from August 29 to September 7, 2025, featured Pakistan, Afghanistan, and hosts UAE. For Pakistan, the tournament doubled as crucial preparation before heading into the Asia Cup, where stiffer challenges await.

With Nawaz’s standout performance, Agha Salman’s steady leadership, and strong support from the bowling unit, Pakistan’s camp looks upbeat. Fans, meanwhile, will hope this Sharjah triumph is the start of a winning run leading into a packed international calendar.
