Pakistan Once Again Faces Deadly Floods: Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has warned that Pakistan is once again in the grip of devastating floods, leaving millions affected across the country.

Speaking at the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, Dar stressed that Pakistan contributes less than 1% to global carbon emissions, yet it remains one of the hardest-hit nations by climate disasters. “For the sake of climate justice, we must raise our voices together,” he said.

He further highlighted the link between peace, stability, and development, urging stronger engagement and exchanges among parliamentary leaders to confront shared challenges.

The latest wave of floods has displaced large communities, submerged vast agricultural land, and disrupted infrastructure in multiple provinces. Rescue operations are underway, but authorities fear the scale of damage could rival the catastrophic floods of 2022.
