LAHORE – A reported police encounter took place in the Jubilee Town area of Chuhng, where officials of CCD Model Town police exchanged fire with armed suspects. According to police, three suspects were shot dead while two managed to flee the scene. One police constable sustained injuries during the operation.
DSP CCD Model Town Syed Hussain Haider said the raid was conducted on a tip-off, during which the suspects opened indiscriminate fire upon seeing the police. In the retaliatory action, three suspects were killed, including one identified as Irshad.
Police revealed that the deceased suspects were wanted in more than 100 cases of heinous crimes, particularly robberies and house burglaries, across Lahore and other districts.
Constable Luqman was injured in the crossfire and shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, ASI Rashid Ghazi narrowly escaped as multiple bullets struck his bulletproof vest.
The DSP further confirmed that a search operation is underway to trace and arrest the two suspects who managed to escape.
