KARACHI – A shocking incident of violence unfolded in Bhittaiabad, Gulistan-e-Johar, where police recovered the bodies of three women from a residence within the jurisdiction of Malir Cantonment police station.
According to officials, the victims were fatally attacked with a sharp weapon. A minor girl and a man were also injured in the assault and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The deceased women were identified as Meena, Dania, and Aashi, while the injured were named as Nandni and Ajay. Police sources revealed that Ajay, who is the maternal uncle of the women, is suspected to have attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon. Later, another injured woman, identified as Priya – a neighbor who rushed inside after hearing the commotion – was also reported. She too was attacked and injured.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir confirmed that a crime scene unit has reached the site and an investigation is underway. Authorities suspect the incident may be linked to domestic conflict or personal enmity but emphasized that all possible angles are being investigated.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the incident, expressing deep concern and sorrow over the killings. He directed SSP Malir to submit a detailed report and ordered transparent investigations. The minister further instructed that the culprits be brought to justice and the injured be provided with the best possible medical care.
