KARACHI, November 6, 2026: The Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC) has launched a new centralized student data portal called “Roshan Sindh Pakistan” to maintain the academic records of students enrolled in public and private universities across the province.
The initiative aims to bring student information from universities onto a single digital platform, making record management more efficient and improving educational planning.
Under the new system, every university will receive a dedicated account through which it can upload student information using a standard Excel template.
Universities Can Upload 60,000 Student Records at Once
According to officials, universities will be able to upload up to 60,000 student records in a single operation.
The portal includes an automated data validation system that checks submitted information, identifies errors and prevents duplicate student entries.
It will also generate detailed reports to help universities and the commission manage and review academic records more effectively.
Secure System Introduced for Student Data Management
The new portal includes secure access controls and a complete audit trail of uploaded records.
This feature will allow the authorities to monitor data submissions and maintain a transparent record of activities carried out through the system.
The centralized platform is expected to provide the SHEC with reliable and updated information about students enrolled in universities throughout Sindh.
Portal to Improve Educational Planning and Monitoring
Officials said the availability of centralized student data would help the commission improve educational planning, monitor university enrolment trends and strengthen quality assurance across higher education institutions.
The system is also expected to reduce the administrative workload on universities.
Previously, institutions had to prepare student information in different formats before submitting it to the commission. The new portal will standardize the process and reduce the time required for data preparation and submission.
Focus on Transparency and Efficiency
The launch of Roshan Sindh Pakistan marks a step towards digital transformation in the province’s higher education sector.
By introducing automated verification, preventing duplicate entries and maintaining detailed records, the system aims to improve accuracy, transparency and accountability in university data management.
The initiative is expected to support better decision-making and provide a more organized approach to managing student information across Sindh.
