KARACHI, November 6, 2026: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced the merit list for the Prime Minister’s Youth Chromebook Scheme 2026, offering an opportunity for high-achieving Grade 9 students from government schools to receive free Chromebooks.
According to the announcement issued on November 5, students who secured outstanding marks in the 2026 annual examinations can now check their selection status online.
The merit list covers students from both Science and General groups studying in government schools affiliated with the Karachi Board.
Merit List Available Online
BSEK has uploaded the list of nominated students to its official website, allowing candidates to check their names without visiting the board office.
Students can access the merit list through the board’s dedicated Chromebook Scheme portal.
The announcement specifically covers eligible Grade 9 students who appeared in the 2026 annual examinations.
Selected Students Must Complete Online Registration
Students whose names appear on the merit list must complete an additional registration process through the Prime Minister’s Youth Chromebook Scheme portal.
Applicants need to select their education board and provide the required identification or examination details to locate their records.
They must also review their information and upload the required documents before submitting the application.
According to the official registration portal, students should prepare a recent photograph, their examination mark sheet, an attested B-Form or CNIC copy, and an attested CNIC copy of their father or guardian.
Registration Is Required for Final Verification
The board has advised nominated students to complete their registration promptly.
Appearing on the merit list does not automatically mean that a Chromebook has been issued. Students must complete the registration and verification requirements before the distribution process.
Part of Nationwide Chromebook Scheme
The Karachi Board’s announcement is part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Chromebook Scheme, which aims to distribute 500,000 Chromebooks to high-performing students across Pakistan.
The initiative is designed to improve access to digital learning resources and help students use technology for education, research and skill development.
The current merit list applies specifically to eligible government-school students affiliated with BSEK Karachi. Registration arrangements for other Sindh education boards are being opened as their Class 9 annual examination results become available.
