Pakistan secured a comfortable 93-run victory over Oman in the 4th match of the Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted 160 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, before bowling out Oman for just 67 in 16.4 overs.

Mohammad Haris top-scored for Pakistan with a fluent 66 off 43 deliveries, striking seven fours and three sixes. His innings provided the backbone of Pakistan’s total, following an early setback when Saim Ayub was dismissed for a golden duck in the opening over. Sahibzada Farhan added 29 from 29 balls, while Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with a brisk 19 from 10 deliveries. Aamir Kaleem was the pick of the bowlers for Oman, finishing with 3 for 31 from four overs. Shah Faisal also impressed, claiming 3 for 34.

In reply, Oman struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. Sufiyan Muqeem and Faheem Ashraf each claimed two wickets, with Muqeem conceding just seven runs from his three overs. Saim Ayub also took 2 for 8 in his two-over spell. Oman’s top scorer was Hammad Mirza with 27, but none of the other batters managed to reach double figures apart from Shakeel Ahmed, who made 10. The innings folded at 67, with ten wickets falling in the space of 16.4 overs.

Pakistan’s bowling unit maintained control throughout the innings, with Abrar Ahmed and Shaheen Shah Afridi also among the wickets. Oman lost wickets at regular intervals, slumping to 49 for 6 at the halfway mark, and never recovered from the early blows.

With this result, Pakistan gained a significant net run rate boost in the tournament standings.
