The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted on Sunday, September 21, 2025, that most regions of the country will remain under hot and dry weather conditions, while isolated areas in the north may see rainfall.

Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir have a chance of light rain and thunderstorms.

The central and southern parts of Pakistan are expected to stay largely hot and dry, with daytime temperatures rising above seasonal averages.

Farmers and residents in rain-fed areas have been advised to prepare for limited rainfall and water shortages.

September is typically a transitional month in Pakistan’s weather cycle, shifting from the monsoon to autumn.

This year’s dry spell has raised concerns about soil moisture levels, which may impact late-summer crops.

PMD regularly issues weekly forecasts to guide agriculture, health, and disaster management departments.

The Met Office has urged the public to take precautions against heat in the southern belt, while those in northern areas should stay alert for sudden thunderstorms.
