Pakistan and Bangladesh have taken fresh steps to deepen their business and diplomatic relations, with both sides highlighting new opportunities for trade, investment, and cooperation.

At a networking event between the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, emphasized the growing commercial activity between the two nations. He pointed to rising interest in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and minerals, calling them potential engines of future economic growth.

Khan assured participants that Pakistan was committed to building a supportive environment for cross-border business, stressing that private-sector collaboration could unlock new trade avenues and investments. Business leaders at the session described the meeting as a milestone for strengthening people to people commercial linkages.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral ties. In a meeting with Bangladesh’s Adviser on Religious Affairs, Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain, the premier underscored the importance of continued high-level visits and exchanges. He noted that relations between the two countries are rooted in shared history, cultural bonds, and family connections.

The prime minister also praised the leadership of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, appreciating his contributions to poverty alleviation and his vision for stronger ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Dr. Hossain, accompanied by Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Md Iqbal Hussain Khan, conveyed Professor Yunus’s letter offering condolences over recent flood losses in Pakistan and pledging relief support. He reaffirmed that the brotherly relationship between the two nations is grounded in historical linkages and common faith.
