KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has announced that high-achieving students from government colleges will be awarded electric bikes as part of the Prime Minister’s nationwide initiative to promote eco-friendly transport and support talented youth.
Along with the e-bikes, position holders will receive full scholarships from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA) to pursue higher education without financial hurdles. A special ceremony will distribute the bikes, announce the scholarships, and honor the students in front of parents and education officials.
Officials confirmed the electric bikes have already arrived in Karachi, and the program will be held annually until 2030. Nationally, the initiative includes 100,000 electric bikes for top students, as well as 3,000 electric rickshaws and loaders for unemployed citizens, combining environmental goals with social support.
