Islamabad: National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has extended heartfelt felicitations on behalf of Pakistan’s Parliament and people to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji, and the Chinese nation on the 76th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

In his congratulatory message on Tuesday, the Speaker paid glowing tribute to the visionary leadership of Chairman Mao Zedong, noting that his historic role laid the foundations of modern China and presented a revolutionary model for the developing world. He said that China’s remarkable achievements stand as a beacon of inspiration for nations worldwide.

Sadiq emphasized that the enduring Pakistan-China friendship is a practical manifestation of their common vision for peace, prosperity, and regional stability. He underlined that this “all-weather partnership” is built on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests, and has withstood every test of time.

The Speaker also lauded China’s unwavering support to Pakistan, particularly its solidarity against recent Indian aggression, and commended Beijing’s consistent stance at international and regional forums. He said China has always raised its voice against injustice, aggression, and terrorism in all its forms.

Welcoming the launch of CPEC Phase-II, Sadiq highlighted the five new corridors focusing on agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, mineral development, and industrial relocation. He said these projects would not only accelerate Pakistan’s economic and industrial growth but also deepen people-to-people linkages.

The Speaker praised the signing of $8.5 billion worth of joint ventures and agreements in agriculture, technology, and infrastructure at the second Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference in Beijing. He termed them a milestone in Pakistan’s long journey toward economic progress. He also underlined the significance of the 2024–2029 Joint Action Plan, calling it a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors.

Sadiq welcomed continued collaboration in defense and technology, saying such initiatives would further enhance regional peace, stability, and Pakistan’s defense capabilities. He appreciated growing trade and investment ties, expressing satisfaction over agreements reached during the fourth Health, Engineering and Minerals Show in Lahore, which saw participation from 200 Chinese companies. He also termed the recent MoUs signed during the President of Pakistan’s visit to China as vital for regional prosperity.

Reiterating the depth of bilateral ties, the Speaker said, “Pakistan and China’s friendship is higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey.” He expressed confidence that under the sagacious leadership of both nations, this tested partnership would grow even stronger, paving new pathways of peace, development, and prosperity for the entire region.
