PM Shehbaz Sharif Departs for Three Day Official Visit to Malaysia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Kuala Lumpur on Sunday for a three-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Atta Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

During the visit, PM Shehbaz will hold meetings with his Malaysian counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim, and lead delegation level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

Several cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed between the two countries in sectors such as trade, information technology and telecommunications, halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and digital economy.

Before his departure, the prime minister wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that he looked forward to productive discussions with Malaysia to further enhance trade, economic collaboration, and mutual cooperation in multiple areas.

Shehbaz Sharif added that global and regional issues of mutual interest would also be discussed and expressed hope that Pakistan Malaysia relations would continue to grow stronger.
