The Holy Capital Secretariat has announced a ban on feeding pigeons around the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The move aims to maintain public health and ensure environmental cleanliness in the holy sites.
Authorities stated that anyone caught violating the rule will face a fine of 1,000 Saudi Riyals. Residents and visitors have been urged to cooperate with the initiative and report violations by providing photos or other evidence to the concerned authorities.
Officials emphasized that the decision is part of broader efforts to preserve hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases caused by pigeon gatherings in densely populated areas near the holy mosques.
