KARACHI – The Sindh High Court has summoned the SSP Keamari along with a detailed report in a case related to the alleged abduction of a citizen, Israr Ahmed, from the jurisdiction of Mominabad Police Station. During the hearing, the court questioned the presence of a retired sub-inspector, identified as Paras, reportedly working at the police station despite his retirement in 2019.
The petitioner’s counsel argued that Israr Ahmed has been missing since June 30 and alleged that retired Sub-Inspector Paras abducted him during a raid at his residence. The court expressed concern over how a retired officer could still be serving in a police station and sought clarification from the investigating officer.
The government lawyer informed the bench that two suspects have already been nominated in the case and their challans have been submitted. However, the court directed the SSP Keamari to provide a comprehensive report regarding the missing citizen and adjourned the hearing till November 14.
