Fiza Ali Criticizes TV Show “Lazawal Ishq,” Says Such Content Is Damaging Social Values

Pakistani actress and host Fiza Ali has strongly criticized the popular television show “Lazawal Ishq,” claiming that such programs are eroding the moral and cultural values of Pakistani society by normalizing inappropriate behavior under the guise of entertainment.

In a recent statement that stirred debate across social media, Fiza Ali expressed her deep concern over what she described as the “promotion of indecency and dating culture” in Pakistani entertainment shows. Speaking to media outlets, she said, “These programs are presenting dating and flirtation as if they’re part of our social norms. This isn’t entertainment — it’s distortion.”

The actress argued that television plays a vital role in shaping young minds, and shows like “Lazawal Ishq” send the wrong message to impressionable viewers. “Our youth learns from what they see on TV. When they see people casually engaging in relationships or crossing boundaries, they start to believe that it’s acceptable behavior,” she added.

Fiza further questioned the intentions behind such programs, saying that the obsession with ratings and fame should not come at the cost of cultural integrity. “We are losing our sense of modesty and respect. Not everything trending on social media should make its way to our television screens,” she remarked.

Several social media users supported Fiza Ali’s stance, echoing concerns that modern Pakistani entertainment often mirrors Western formats without considering local cultural sensitivities. However, others argued that such shows simply reflect evolving realities and the diversity of human relationships, suggesting that audiences should have the freedom to choose what they watch.

Meanwhile, media watchdogs have reportedly received complaints from citizens demanding a review of “Lazawal Ishq” and similar content. According to reports from local news outlets, a petition has also been filed urging regulatory authorities to evaluate whether the show violates national broadcasting standards and social decency guidelines.

The controversy has reignited a broader discussion about the balance between artistic freedom and social responsibility in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. While Fiza Ali insists that the media must act responsibly, others believe that censorship only stifles creativity and open dialogue.

Whether “Lazawal Ishq” will face official scrutiny remains to be seen, but Fiza Ali’s remarks have once again drawn attention to the growing divide between traditional values and modern entertainment trends in Pakistani society. For now, the debate continues — both on TV screens and across social media platforms.
