KARACHI: The National Institute of Fire Protection and Safety (NIFPS), in collaboration with the Federal Civil Defence Training School Karachi, successfully conducted Pakistan’s first-ever five-day “Fire Safety Excellence with NFPA” training program.

The course, led by fire protection expert Salman Rasheed, provided participants with practical training on modern fire safety systems, emergency response, fire prevention, alarm systems, and sprinkler systems. It also highlighted compliance with international NFPA standards and the Building Code of Pakistan.

Experts and representatives from various government and private organizations participated in the program, including Pakistan State Oil, Rescue 1122, KMC Fire Brigade, Atlas Battery, Lucky Motors, Lucky Cement, and HBL Plaza. Participants appreciated the course content and said that such training adds new dimensions to their professional experience.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Commandant of Civil Defence Training School Karachi, Mehboob Sheikh, said the course fulfills modern requirements and will help institutions effectively implement national and international fire safety standards. He announced that more similar international-level courses will soon be held in collaboration with the NIFPS.

Chief Fire Officer of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Humayun Khan, who was the chief guest of the ceremony, said that such training programs will strengthen Pakistan’s professional fire safety system and bring it in line with global standards.

Certificates were distributed among the participants at the end of the training. The organizers expressed their commitment to continue offering advanced training programs to promote fire safety awareness and preparedness across the country.
