Afghanistan continued their remarkable rise in international cricket by completing a 3–0 clean sweep against Bangladesh in the ODI series, securing a dominant win in the third and final match in Chattogram.

The visitors showcased all-round brilliance throughout the series, outplaying Bangladesh in every department. In the decisive third ODI, young pacer Bilal Sami delivered a career-best performance, claiming crucial wickets at key moments to restrict Bangladesh’s chase. His match-winning spell earned him the Player of the Match award.

Afghanistan’s batting was once again anchored by Ibrahim Zadran, whose consistent form with the bat made him the standout performer of the series. Zadran’s calm approach and ability to build partnerships under pressure earned him the Player of the Series title.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, struggled to find momentum across the series. Their batting collapsed repeatedly against Afghanistan’s disciplined bowling attack led by Rashid Khan and Bilal sami. Despite flashes of resistance from Towhid Hridoy and Mehidy Hasan, the hosts could not capitalize on their starts.

This clean sweep marks a significant achievement for Afghanistan cricket — not only their first-ever ODI series whitewash against Bangladesh but also a testament to the team’s growing maturity and consistency on the international stage.

Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi praised his team’s discipline and unity, calling the win “a reward for the hard work and self-belief” that has driven Afghan cricket in recent years.

With the 3–0 triumph, Afghanistan have strengthened their credentials as one of the most competitive emerging sides in world cricket — and sent a clear message ahead of next year’s major ICC tournaments.
