ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Secretary General Allama Shah Owais Noorani agreed on Friday that no madrassa in the country would be closed, while strict action will be taken against those creating unrest.

During a meeting held in Islamabad, Mohsin Naqvi reiterated that taking up arms against the state is unacceptable under any circumstances. He stressed that no individual or group will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

Allama Noorani also expressed support for maintaining peace and order, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between religious institutions and the government to prevent any misuse of seminaries.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that religious seminaries continue to operate freely for educational and spiritual purposes while maintaining compliance with the law.
