The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shandana Gulzar for allegedly spreading anti-state material on social media.

According to the News, the agency filed the case under FIR No. 296/2025, accusing the PTI lawmaker of sharing misleading and fabricated tweets and videos on the social platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).

Investigators claim that the content included inflammatory remarks against state institutions and attempts to incite ethnic and linguistic hatred. The FIR also alleges that Shandana Gulzar circulated a doctored image and false information about the Prime Minister, including a fabricated claim of a meeting with the Israeli premier.

Authorities say the dissemination of such misleading material fueled public unrest and distrust toward state institutions. The investigation concluded that the PTI leader had deliberately promoted a narrative harmful to national stability through fake news.

Further inquiries are underway to identify other individuals or groups allegedly involved in the campaign.
