OpenAI is expanding its ChatGPT advertising programme to 26 additional countries, including Pakistan, as the company continues to develop its advertising business and diversify its revenue streams.
According to Reuters, the expansion will bring the total number of markets where ChatGPT ads are available to 89. The rollout covers countries across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria and South Africa.
OpenAI initially began testing advertisements on ChatGPT in the United States earlier this year. The company has reported growing interest from advertisers, with more than 100,000 advertisers having run campaigns on the platform.
Businesses in the newly added markets will be able to access ChatGPT advertising through technology partners, with self-service options also available through OpenAI’s Ads Manager.
The company has stated that advertisements will appear only on ChatGPT’s Free and Go plans. Subscribers to Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans will continue to use the service without ads.
The expansion reflects OpenAI’s efforts to strengthen its advertising operations as competition in the artificial intelligence industry continues to grow. The company has also been developing AI-powered advertising tools and testing sponsored AI agents with selected advertisers.penAI expands ChatGPT advertising to 26 additional countries, including Pakistan, as the company continues to grow its global advertising business.
