Alarm Bells Ring as Second Monkeypox Case Reported in Lahore

Alarm bells have rung as the second case of monkeypox has been reported in Lahore.

‎The patient admitted to Mayo Hospital Lahore tested positive for monkeypox. Bilal, a 45 year old resident of Narang Mandi, developed high fever six days ago, followed by skin rashes.

‎A private laboratory confirmed the diagnosis of the monkeypox patient admitted to Mayo Hospital. Earlier, a patient with monkeypox was already under treatment at Lahore General Hospital.

‎According to the Specialized Healthcare Department, a Center of Excellence for monkeypox patients has been established at General Hospital. The confirmation of two cases in Lahore has raised serious concerns among health authorities.
