KARACHI: A tragic incident was reported in Karachi’s Gulberg area, where a couple was found dead inside their home under mysterious circumstances. Police discovered the bodies of a 30-year-old woman, Yasmeen, and her 35-year-old husband, Khuda Bux, at a house in Rehmanabad Block 5, Federal B Area.
According to police, upon entering the residence (House No. B-182 near Muhammadi Mosque), officers found the woman’s throat slit and her body lying in a pool of blood, while the man was found hanging from a ceiling fan. Forensic experts were called to collect evidence, and both bodies were later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal procedures.
Police spokesperson confirmed that the deceased were husband and wife and parents of five children. Their family hailed from Bhakkar, Punjab, and had moved to Karachi about five years ago.
The deceased man’s brother-in-law, Muhammad Hanif, told reporters that the couple frequently argued but had no history of severe conflict. He said the family was informed of the deaths by the couple’s elder son, Rashid, who discovered the bodies upon returning home from work.
Police handed over the bodies to the family after completing formalities, and the relatives have taken them to Punjab for burial. Investigations are underway to determine whether it was a case of murder followed by suicide or a double homicide.
