‘Stranger Things’ Stars Show Unity Amid Discord Rumours

As Netflix’s hit series ‘Stranger Things’ nears its final season, attention at the Los Angeles world premiere shifted from the show’s supernatural thrills to the chemistry between its leading stars, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.

The two actors, recently at the centre of harassment allegations, appeared together on Thursday evening, greeting each other warmly and suggesting that rumours of tension may have been overstated. Their joint appearance comes days after reports claimed that Brown had filed a “harassment and bullying claim” against Harbour before production on the series’ fifth and concluding season.

British tabloids reported that the claim triggered a months-long internal Netflix investigation. While no misconduct was officially found, Brown reportedly had a representative on set during filming, which wrapped in December 2024.

Both actors have remained publicly silent, but their red-carpet interaction, including laughter and a brief embrace, quickly circulated on social media via official ‘Stranger Things’ and Netflix accounts.

Show creators Matt and Ross Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy addressed the situation directly on the red carpet, stressing that reports of discord had been exaggerated.

“We’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family,” Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter. “Nothing matters more than having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”

Levy, who directed several of the series’ most acclaimed episodes, added, “You have to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and we did everything to build that. We’re proud of that fact,” noting that much of the media coverage regarding the claims had been “wildly inaccurate.”
