Kalat: A tribal leader and three others were killed after unidentified assailants opened fire on their vehicle in Balochistan’s Kalat district on Sunday.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Sarband area of Tehsil Khaliqabad, where unknown gunmen ambushed the vehicle of tribal elder Shakir Saadullah Lango.
Authorities said that the deceased were identified as Shakir Khairullah Lango, Muhammad Karim, and Muhammad Zahir, along with the tribal leader himself.
Following the incident, Levies personnel cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the attack.
This comes a day after a separate armed clash between two groups in the Mengchar area of Kalat, which left three people dead and several others injured. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, while the attackers managed to flee. Police have begun a search operation to trace the suspects.
