BEIJING: The Pakistan Embassy College Beijing (PECB) came alive with color, music, and tradition on Saturday as students, teachers, and diplomats gathered to mark International Culture Day 2025.

According to a statement from the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, the annual celebration was inaugurated by Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, who described the event as a vibrant display of global harmony, featuring cultural representations from over 50 countries, including Pakistan and China.

The campus transformed into a lively showcase of world traditions, filled with the aroma of diverse cuisines, folk music, and bright national costumes, creating a vivid scene of unity through diversity.

Principal Shazia Amjad, while welcoming guests, commended students and faculty for their creativity and teamwork in turning the college into “a miniature world of cultures.” She highlighted that such events help students learn beyond the classroom through shared experiences and cultural exchange.

Stalls featuring handmade crafts, traditional dishes, and cultural exhibits from various nations attracted visitors eager to explore global traditions. The atmosphere buzzed with conversations, laughter, and photography as attendees shared stories and formed new friendships.

After visiting the stalls, Ambassador Hashmi praised the college for its commitment to promoting intercultural understanding, calling it “a bridge of friendship and learning” between Pakistan, China, and the broader international community.

The festival drew a lively crowd of diplomats, Chinese guests, Pakistani families, and students, who cheered for performances ranging from Chinese dragon dances to Pakistani folk songs, each met with enthusiastic applause.

As the day ended and flags from dozens of nations fluttered together, the festival closed on a powerful note: celebrating each other’s heritage brings us closer as one global community.
