ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced the date for the upcoming National Registration Examination (NRE) Step-I, confirming that the examination will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

According to the public notice signed by Dr. Syed Rehan Asghar Naqvi, Registrar of PMDC, the online registration portal for NRE Step-I will remain active from November 14 to November 25, 2025. Candidates are required to complete their registration within the given timeline through the official PM&DC website (www.pmdc.pk).

The NRE is a mandatory assessment for foreign medical and dental graduates who wish to obtain registration and practice in Pakistan. The examination evaluates candidates’ theoretical knowledge, clinical understanding, and competence in alignment with global medical education standards.

PMDC has further stated that details about the structure, standards, and syllabus of the NRE Step-I are available on the Council’s website. The Council has advised all eligible candidates to stay updated by visiting www.pmdc.pk regularly for important notifications and procedural guidance.

The announcement underscores PMDC’s ongoing commitment to transparency, academic integrity, and professional excellence in Pakistan’s medical and dental licensing process, ensuring that practitioners meet internationally benchmarked standards before entering the healthcare system.
