Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has reportedly been cast in the lead role of filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film Operation Sindoor, according to a report by Variety India. The project is inspired by real events and is based on Lieutenant General K. J. S. “Tiny” Dhillon’s book, Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan.
The film will explore events surrounding Operation Sindoor, which followed the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack. Agnihotri previously announced the project on social media, saying it would be developed through extensive research in collaboration with multiple wings of the Indian Armed Forces.
If confirmed, the film will mark the first collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and Vivek Agnihotri. It is expected to be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Agnihotri’s production banner, I Am Buddha Productions.
Kartik is currently working on Captain India, directed by Shimit Amin, and is expected to begin filming Operation Sindoor after completing that project.
However, the makers have not officially confirmed Kartik Aaryan’s casting. Further details about the supporting cast, production schedule and release date have yet to be announced.
The project has generated interest because of its real-life inspiration and the involvement of Agnihotri, known for films including The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War.
