Karachi Introduces Dedicated Lane for Ambulances for the First Time

For the first time in Karachi’s history, a dedicated lane has been marked exclusively for ambulances to ensure uninterrupted emergency movement. The new initiative aims to reduce delays caused by heavy traffic, which often puts patients’ lives at risk.

City officials say the decision was taken after repeated complaints from rescue services about traffic congestion blocking their routes. The dedicated lane is being marked on key roads, and traffic police have been instructed to strictly enforce the rule.

Commuters have welcomed the move, calling it a long-overdue step that could help save precious lives. Rescue workers also expressed relief, saying the lane will allow ambulances to reach hospitals much faster during critical situations.

Authorities plan to expand the initiative to more areas of the city if the first phase proves successful.
