ISLAMABAD: A teenager — whose father is reportedly associated with the judiciary — was placed on a four-day physical remand on Tuesday after his car fatally struck a scooter carrying two women at the Secretariat Chowk on Islamabad’s Shahrah-e-Dastoor.
According to police, the car rammed into the scooter with full force, killing both women instantly. The teenager was arrested at the scene and later presented before a local court.
No Licence, No ID, Filming While Driving: Prosecutor
During the hearing, the prosecutor told the court that the suspect had no driving licence or national identity card when taken into custody.
The teenager reportedly claimed that his CNIC had been made but he was not carrying it at the time of the crash.
The prosecutor further revealed that the boy admitted he was recording a video on his mobile phone just moments before the collision. Investigators told the court the suspect allegedly discarded his phone immediately after the accident, and efforts were underway to retrieve it.
Age Verification Ordered
Police also requested a medical examination to determine the suspect’s exact age, noting the absence of official identification documents.
After hearing the arguments, the judge approved a four-day physical remand to allow police to investigate the incident further.
