Lahore: The investigation into the alleged gang rape of two sisters in the Sunder area of Lahore has been transferred to the Crime Control Department (CCD) Chuhng on the directives of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore.
According to police officials, the case was reassigned following a request by Additional Inspector General CCD, Sohail Zafar Chattha. The CCD Chuhng unit will now conduct further investigation into the matter.
The incident reportedly occurred two days ago, when five individuals allegedly subjected the two sisters to sexual assault. A case was registered at the concerned police station on the complaint of the victims’ mother.
Police stated that the nominated suspects include Qasim, Umair Jatt, Ali Akbar Wattoo, Zia-ur-Rehman, and Ahmad Raza. Four of the accused have been arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspect.
Authorities have assured that the investigation will be carried out on merit and those responsible will be brought to justice.
