PSL 11 to be held under revamped format: reports

Reports suggest that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 will feature a new competition format, with the expanded eight-team tournament scheduled to take place in two distinct phases.

Set to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026, PSL 11 will include a total of 44 matches played over 39 days.

According to available details, the revised structure replaces the traditional full league system to accommodate the addition of two teams without significantly extending the tournament’s length.

In the first phase, all eight teams will compete in a single round-robin format, where each side will face every other team once, ensuring equal competition at the initial stage.

The tournament will then move into a Super Four phase, in which the teams will be divided into two groups of four. Each team will play three matches in this round, producing 12 games in total and determining the standings ahead of the knockout stage.

The top two teams from the Super Four phase will qualify for the playoffs. As in previous editions, four playoff matches — including the final — will be played to crown the PSL 11 champions.

Despite the new format and expanded lineup, every team will still play at least 10 matches, keeping consistency with earlier PSL seasons.

Matches will be hosted in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan, while Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium is expected to host PSL matches for the first time.
