With the onset of winter, cases of the influenza virus H3N2 are rapidly emerging in the federal capital as well as other cities across the country.

‎According to an advisory issued by the National Institute of Health, the influenza virus type A sub variant, which is currently spreading rapidly nationwide, is not dangerous for the general public, but it can have serious effects on people with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and children.

‎During the year, testing of more than 340,000 patient samples collected at the National Institute of Health laboratory found that 12 to 15 percent of cases were positive for the influenza virus type A sub variant.

‎Symptoms:

‎Fever, flu, and cough are common symptoms of the disease, while some patients also complain of difficulty in breathing.

‎Precautionary Measures:

‎Health experts have advised elderly people, children, and patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, and asthma to take special precautions.

‎The National Institute of Health advisory recommends increasing the intake of warm beverages, eating a healthy diet, and avoiding the use of antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription.

‎Meanwhile, in Europe and the United Kingdom, the super flu virus has created an emergency situation in hospitals for the first time since COVID. In the UK, more than 2,500 people are being admitted to hospitals daily.

‎Influenza cases are also rising rapidly across Europe, where experts have emphasized wearing masks while using public transport and adopting precautionary measures in crowded places.

‎Although this virus is not very dangerous for the general public, it is creating additional health challenges during the winter season, due to which citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures.
