LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has launched updated versions of its MBBS Modular Integrated Curriculum 2K23 and BDS Integrated Curriculum 2K25, which will be implemented in all public and private medical and dental colleges across Punjab.

The new curricula were formally approved by the UHS Syndicate and the Boards of Studies for Medicine and Dentistry in a joint meeting. UHS Registrar Kiran Fatima presented the resolution, which was signed by the relevant board conveners, the syndicate chairman, and the provincial minister.

Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique attended the launch ceremony at UHS Lahore as the chief guest. The event was also attended by senior academicians, principals of medical and dental colleges, and members of statutory bodies. The minister officially launched the curricula by making them available on the UHS website.

UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore said the Punjab government fully supported the curriculum reforms, adding that the clerkship-based model would help improve the standard of medical education and training.

UHS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nadia Naseem said the MBBS Curriculum 2K23 was developed over a period of three years with contributions from nearly 700 faculty members.

According to UHS officials, the revised curricula are aligned with national regulatory requirements and international standards, with a focus on integrated learning, early clinical exposure, professionalism, and practical skills.
