‎At NICVD Karachi, 1,567 adult open heart surgeries and 1,231 pediatric open heart surgeries were also performed.

‎In addition, procedures were carried out on 66 stroke patients, saving them from lifelong disability, while 964 temporary pacemakers TPM and 1,167 permanent pacemakers PPM were implanted.

‎Under diagnostic and outpatient services, 88,484 echocardiography tests were conducted, 445,209 adult and pediatric OPD visits were recorded, and 54,131 patients were admitted. During 2025, a total of 158,266 patients belonging to other provinces were provided free treatment at NICVD Karachi.

‎Executive Director NICVD Professor Tahir Sagheer said that this extraordinary performance of the institution was made possible due to the continuous and unwavering support of the Sindh government.

‎He stated that NICVD is providing surgeries, angioplasties, electrophysiology treatment, stroke treatment, and advanced diagnostic facilities completely free of cost to patients from across the country.

‎Professor Tahir Sagheer further said that in view of the increasing number of patients, a new OPD block has recently been inaugurated, and NICVD remains committed to ensuring that no patient is deprived of quality cardiac care due to financial constraints.
