Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital is currently facing a severe shortage of antibiotics and other essential medicines.
According to hospital sources, patients suffering from various infections are in urgent need of antibiotics, but these are currently unavailable.
Executive Director of Jinnah Hospital, Professor Dr. Shahid Rasool, while speaking to the media, revealed that the hospital’s medicine procurement contract expired on June 30.
He added that more than 2,000 patients visit the emergency department daily. “We are providing life-saving medicines to patients, but the renewal of the procurement agreement is crucial to ensure the continued supply of essential drugs,” he said.
