Kerala Police have seized more than 100,000 fake academic degrees linked to 22 universities and arrested 11 suspects during a major crackdown on a large-scale certificate forgery network.

According to police officials, the operation targeted an organized group involved in the production and distribution of fraudulent degrees across India. The seized fake certificates covered multiple professional fields, including medicine, nursing, and engineering.

Authorities said the forged degrees were used by individuals to secure jobs in various sectors, raising serious concerns about public safety and institutional credibility. Investigators estimate that over one million fake degrees may have already been circulated and used for employment purposes.

The investigation further revealed that the network sold individual fake certificates for amounts ranging between Rs. 200,000 and Rs. 400,000, generating substantial illegal income.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and efforts are underway to identify and dismantle the wider network involved in the large-scale forgery operation.
