Specific batches of two medicines have been declared fake in Punjab, and an order for their immediate recall has been issued.

‎The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (Drugs Control Wing) has issued an emergency public notice, declaring specific batches of D-Gest 10 mg and Gabica 300 mg as spurious.

‎According to the report of the Drug Testing Laboratory Punjab, the medicines were found to be substandard. Batch number DGH007 (expiry April 2027) and batch number 518C27 (expiry July 2027) were declared non compliant.

‎Action has been taken under the Drugs Act 1976, and instructions have been issued to immediately remove the stock from the market. Manufacturers and distributors have been directed to submit reports to Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.

‎Doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals have been instructed to immediately stop the sale and use of these batches, and monitoring has been intensified across the province. Legal action has been warned in case of violation.

‎The Health Department has appealed to the public not to use the mentioned batches under any circumstances and to report immediately in case of any adverse effects. Citizens have been advised to purchase medicines only from authorized and licensed pharmacies.
