The number of children affected by HIV during a period of 15 months in Pakistan has been revealed.
The Federal Ministry of Health stated that 2,108 children were diagnosed with HIV in Pakistan during 15 months.
According to the Ministry’s Common Management Unit, the affected children include 1,274 boys and 834 girls.
Officials said Sindh is the most affected province where 1,515 children were diagnosed with HIV during 15 months.
According to officials, in Sindh 1,186 cases were reported during 2025 while 329 more children were affected in the first three months of 2026, and Punjab ranked second in 2025 where 418 children were affected by HIV.
Officials said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 111 children affected by HIV, including 90 cases in 2025 and 21 cases in the first three months of 2026.
According to officials, 38 children were affected by HIV in Balochistan, including 33 cases in 2025 and 5 cases in the first three months of 2026.
Officials further stated that 22 children were affected by HIV in Islamabad, including 17 cases in 2025 and 5 cases in 2026.
According to officials, 3 children were diagnosed with HIV in Azad Kashmir and 1 child in Gilgit Baltistan.
